Colorado Rockies vs Los Angeles Dodgers
Los Angeles-- It was a cold, windy, loud night at Chavez Ravine. Walker Buehler swaggered to the mound to finish the ninth inning. You could see his swagger dripping as he launched his blazing 99 MPH fastball by hitters, all night. Matt Beaty stole the show from Buehler as he hit his first career walk-off home run off Jairo Diaz to win 4-2 in thrilling fashion.
Walker Buehler put on one of the performances for the ages as he threw a complete game, three-hit, no walks, and 16 punchouts- 15 swinging. I mean come on now, that is just flat-out nasty.
Buehler's counterpart almost did just as well, believe it or not. German Marquez overpowered the Dodgers going eight innings, allowing only two runs on five hits, eight strikeouts, and no walks. The only blemish of the night was giving up a home run to MVP candidate Cody Bellinger but was outstanding other than that.
Los Angeles (52-25) has won their ninth consecutive game over the Colorado Rockies, lead by 11 games in the National League West. The Dodgers are 32-9 at Dodgers Stadium, the second-best home start in franchise history.
